Newt Gingrich bounces $500 primary check and accuses Fox News of bias

by Susan Green

Newt Gingrich is having a hard time lately and not just financially. Although Gingrich did recently bounce a $500.00 filing fee check for Utah’s upcoming primary.  Mr. Gingrich has stated that his campaign is 4.5 million in debt. If he is unable to scrape together the $500.00 to pay the filing fee by April 20, his name will not appear on the ballot.

Gingrich’s financial woes seems to be the least of his concerns, as he is now pointing the accusatory finger at Fox News. The former House Speaker spoke to Tea Party leaders in Delaware on Wednesday, lashing out at Fox News, for what he says is their “bias” against him. “I think Fox has been for Romney all the way through. In our experience, Callista and I both believe CNN is less biased than Fox this year. We are more likely to get neutral coverage out of CNN than we are of Fox, and we’re more likely to get distortion out of Fox. That’s just a fact.”

Mr. Gingrich states that he is holding Rupert Murdoch responsible for the decision to favor Romney in the network’s coverage. “I assume it’s because Murdoch at some point said, ‘I want Romney,’ and so ‘fair and balanced’ became ‘Romney. And there’s no question that Fox had a lot to do with stopping my campaign because such a high percentage of our base watches Fox.”

Gingrich seems headed down the river of no return without a paddle, and he may only have himself to blame. Perhaps the $500,000 that Newt spent on his well-publicized Tiffany’s shopping spree, could have gone to better use. A second job might be the answer for Gingrich, maybe a little janitorial work. After all, if it’s good enough for school children it should be good enough for Newt.
